Introduction to advanced rpas
This foundational ground school prepares pilots for Transport Canada’s Small RPAS – Advanced Operations written exam and flight review. Aligned to the knowledge requirements in TP 15263, it builds a practical understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs Part IX), airspace and ATC coordination, meteorology, navigation and VFR charts, mission planning, normal/abnormal/emergency procedures, human factors/CRM, RPAS performance and limitations, maintenance/record-keeping, and privacy/ethics.
You’ll learn how to classify airspace and obtain authorization interpret NOTAMs, plan safe VLOS missions with RTK, manage risks with proven checklists, and communicate professionally using standard phraseology. The course includes scenario-based exercises, exam-style practice questions, and ready-to-use templates (pre-flight, maintenance, and mission plans) so you can move from theory to confident operations.
